We are pleased to invite Regions4 members to our Regions4 General Assembly which shall take place on 15 -16 June 2022. Hosted by the government of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Regions4 Vice President for Africa, the event will celebrate the 20th anniversary of our global network, our success stories, and key milestones.

Throughout the past 20 years, the Regions4 community has achieved important international recognition, acknowledged at the UN level as the global voice for regional governments. We have consolidated a powerful network, based on principles of solidarity and mutual support. Connecting regions from the North and South, Regions4 has proved the relevance of peer-to-peer support and collaboration, and thus how cooperation and political leadership lead to progress.

Our goal is for these connections to be translated into impactful actions, solutions and enduring results which are shared and celebrated within the network.

Regions4’s 20th anniversary on 15 June will be an excellent opportunity to reconnect regions and to gather our community in a series of events to collectively define the pathways to achieve the resilience of 4 billion people by 2030, with regional cooperation, support, and solidarity at the core.

We will also look at the opportunities ahead for the global endorsement of the role of regional governments in the UN sustainable development, biodiversity, and climate conventions. Hence, Regions4 will organise an open & hybrid special high-level event on 16 June to prepare the contributions of regional governments towards the Conference of the Parties on climate change (COP27) of Egypt and analyse the political opportunity to influence the global adaptation goal and COP27 processes.
