Multilevel governance and action are crucial for meeting national commitments and tackling global challenges like the SDGs, climate change, and biodiversity. At COP16, parties will present their strategies to align their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) with the Global Biodiversity Framework.
In this event we will explore the pivotal role of Subnational Governments in the NBSAP process and its early implementation. This session will unveil key insights, lessons learned, and recommendations from groundbreaking multilevel biodiversity collaborations in Latin America and globally. Our participants will hear from high-level experts involved in Mexico’s toolkit development workshops and Brazil’s NBSAP updating and review process and how they’ve supported their subnational and local leaders.
