As RegionsAdapt marks its tenth anniversary, this Spotlight Session will provide an opportunity to reflect on how regional climate adaptation has evolved over the past decade and to discuss priorities for the years ahead.

Since its launch at COP21 in 2015, RegionsAdapt has grown into the world’s leading global initiative supporting regional governments on climate adaptation. Over the past ten years, members have advanced adaptation planning, implementation and reporting, while contributing to a growing body of knowledge, evidence and peer learning.

This interactive session will present the first insights emerging from our ten-year stocktake and invite members to help shape the next phase of the initiative. Together, we will explore how RegionsAdapt can continue to respond to members’ evolving priorities and strengthen support for regional climate resilience.

What to expect

During the session, participants will:

  • Reflect on ten years of regional climate action through the “A Decade of Leadership in Climate Action” anniversary campaign.
  • Discover the first insights from the upcoming RegionsAdapt 2026 Anniversary Report, highlighting key trends, lessons and progress across the network.
  • Preview the new RegionsAdapt Playbook, a practical resource bringing together ten years of guidance, tools, case studies and member experience.
  • Explore the key findings from the RegionsAdapt 10-Year Survey.
  • Discuss priorities for the next decade, including the proposed RegionsAdapt 2028-2030 Strategy and new ideas to strengthen the initiative and better support members.

This 1 hour session will offer an opportunity to shape RegionsAdapt Strategy, engage directly with members, and reflect on what key lessons can be highlighted from our members’ experiences.
