Collaborative Pathways: Harnessing Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Society Approaches for the Global Biodiversity Framework Implementation

At Regions4, we’ve observed the positive outcomes of ongoing collaboration between different levels of government and stakeholders in the updating and revision process of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs).

Regions4 is on a mission to empower subnational leaders and their partners to drive forward the Global Biodiversity Framework and their Subnational Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (SBSAPs). This pivotal event will highlight the indispensable role of collective action in achieving the Global Biodiversity Framework’s ambitious goals and our shared global vision of living in harmony with nature by 2050. We will convene  dynamic panel discussions with subnational and local leaders, Indigenous Peoples, academia, and the donor community to tackle the benefits, challenges, and opportunities of multisector engagement.

We will facilitate a round table discussion involving the subnational and local leaders, and other stakeholders including Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, academia and scientific institutions, and the donor community and hear firsthand from leaders who are implementing on-the-ground action. This discussion will address the benefits, challenges, and opportunities multisector and multistakeholder engagement offers.

Key topics will include securing biodiversity finance and unleashing innovative solutions to accelerate tangible, on-the-ground action. We call on all regions dedicated to ending biodiversity loss to join us and amplify the voice of subnational leaders. Let’s unite and inspire transformative change for our planet’s future.
