Regions4 is pleased to share that several initiatives led by RegionsAdapt member governments are now featured in the COP30 “Granary of Solutions”, the Presidency’s new platform showcasing real-world climate action. The platform highlights practical solutions that are delivering results for people, nature, and economies, and aims to accelerate implementation in line with the Paris Agreement.

This visibility is an important step in recognising that resilience is built at territorial level. States, regions, and provinces are often where adaptation planning becomes reality: where ecosystems are restored, communities are supported to adapt, and climate finance is translated into action on the ground.

Through RegionsAdapt, Regions4 actively contributed to the development of the Granary of Solutions by submitting more than 20 case studies from across our network. This collective effort ensured that the leadership of subnational governments is represented within the global climate action narrative and shared with countries, partners, and financial institutions preparing for COP30.

At this stage, the following initiatives from RegionsAdapt members are already featured on the platform:

  • The National Peatland Action Programme, Scotland
  • Empowering Assam’s Villages: Youth Fellows Driving Climate Resilience, Assam
  • Protecting Blue Carbon Ecosystems, Andalusia
  • Québec’s Carbon Market: Financing Climate Action Directly, Québec
  • Conexão Mata Atlântica: Restoration aligned with sustainable production, Brazil
  • Saving Scotland’s Rainforest, Scotland
  • Urban Klima 2050: Advancing adaptation in Basque cities, Basque Country
  • Cultivating Just Resilience through the Chakra Group, Napo Province
  • Zero Deforestation Agave Production Chains (Tequila), Jalisco

These examples illustrate the diversity of approaches being led at subnational level: from peatland and rainforest restoration to community governance, youth engagement, and innovative financing mechanisms that directly resource resilience.

Additional cases from our submission are expected to be added progressively as the platform continues to expand. We will share updates and make these stories accessible through the Regions4 Knowledge Hub and the RegionsVoice campaign in the lead-up to COP30.

As the global community prepares for COP30 in Belém, this platform provides a valuable opportunity to reaffirm a central message: scaling adaptation requires recognising and resourcing territorial leadership. Regions are already delivering solutions. With sustained support, their impact can grow.
