A pratical tool to accelerate the 2030 Agenda
The Regions4SDGs Framework is a living tool, meant to evolve alongside regional practice. It is a map that supports regions on their path towards sustainable development, connecting diverse experiences into a coherent picture.
The Framework is part of the Regions4SDGs Initiative, which bridges a decade of SDG localization with the future of the Goals. It draws on the many experiments carried out by regional governments to address the complexity of delivering the 2030 Agenda, and offers a platform to keep learning and scale impact, helping shape global development agendas.
Subnational governments have been recognized as indispensable actors for an effective transition. Not only are their competences necessary to meet over 60% of the Agenda 2030 targets, but regions and cities are also political actors able to drive momentum for the Goals and create space for new models of development.
