The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation recently announced a new prize, the “Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity”,  that will award €1 million to the individuals and/or organisations doing outstanding work in climate change mitigation and adaptation.

The prize will both financially support and seek to bring attention to the people whose work in tackling the climate emergency stands out for its novelty, innovation and impact. Through this support, the initiative seeks to help leverage and catalyse large-scale climate action responses that can help to protect both society and the environment from the effects of climate change.

The call for nominations is open until 7 April.
