Regions4 General Assembly 2024 Report
The Regions4 General Assembly 2024 report outlines the main highlights and results of the Assembly, held between 26-28 June, in Rio the Janeiro, under the theme “Empowered Regions Shaping a Sustainable, Just and Resilient Future.” The report presents the discussions held about strengthening Regions4’s strategy, welcoming new members, electing the new Board of Chairs, outcomes of the Financing Resilience International Forum, the world café discussion and the visit to the Rio de Janeiro Primatology Center.
Participants engaged in high-level dialogues, exchanged best practices, and planned for upcoming international events. During the Assembly, the new Board of Chairs was ratifed: First Minister Mr. John Swinney from the Scottish Government was nominated Regions4 President. Mr. Cláudio Castro, Governor of the Government of Rio de Janeiro was nominated Vice President for the Americas, Mr. Rachid El Abdi, President of the Regional Council of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, was nominated Vice President for Africa, and Mr. Giorgio Maione, Minister of Environment and Climate of Lombardy Region, as Vice President for Europe.
