The Regions4 launched the first edition of the Call4Projects in 2016.  The objective of this initiative is to promote cooperation among Regions4 members in actions related to Regions4 main fields of action: sustainable development, biodiversity and climate change.

The Call4Projects co-funds pilot projects, demonstration projects and dissemination projects with a duration of 12 to 24 months. The awarded projects are co-funded by Regions4 with a maximum 60% of total eligible costs of the project establishing at each call the allocated amount to be provided by Regions4.

Since its launch in 2015, the following regions have benefited from the Call4Projects:

Azuay and Morona Santiago (Ecuador) with the project “Comprehensive conservation of the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus) and the mountain tapir (Tapirus pinchaque) as protected species in the Collay Protected Forest”
